1 Why should I take out Travel Assistance Insurance?

When you leave your familiar surroundings, there is an increased risk of incidents, and simply because you are far from home, they are even harder and more complicated to solve. The further afield you go, the longer it takes to get there, and the remoter it is, the more essential it is to take out insurance. Regardless of whether you are signed up with Social Security, there are many services that are not included: repatriation for health reasons, baggage loss, compensation in the event of accident, compensation for interrupted holidays, early return…Travel insurance is therefore an essential travel companion.

2 What should I do in the event of an incident?
In the event of an incident, you should immediately notify Mondial Assistance of the circumstances; if assistance-repatriation is required, you should call 800201833 if you are in Portugal or 213129210 if you are abroad (the numbers are attended at all times, 24 hours a day, every day of the year), indicating where you are, your telephone number and the type of assistance you require. Calls for assistance from abroad may be affected at reversed charge. If the incident relates to other guarantees (cancellation, baggage, delays, accident), please call 800206031 or 217806268 if you are abroad.
